Technical Analysis
The SOL/USD H1 chart has turned fragile after losing its short-term uptrend structure. Price is trading near 85.149, below the 20-period EMA at 85.79, the 50-period EMA at 86.11, and the Parabolic SAR at 86.32. That alignment shows that near-term control has shifted back to sellers and that the recent bounce attempts are still failing beneath dynamic resistance.
The chart structure has also weakened after the break of the rising trendline that had supported the move from the April 20 low. Price action is now testing the 85.15 zone, which is the immediate pivot. If that level breaks decisively, the next downside area comes in near 84.50, followed by 83.20. On the upside, the first resistance is 85.80, while the stronger recovery barrier sits in the 86.10–86.30 area. A move back above that cluster would be needed to stabilize the chart materially.
Momentum is mixed but not convincingly bullish. The stochastic oscillator is near 53/41, which suggests a mild rebound attempt is developing, but the indicator is still too weak to confirm a real reversal while price remains below both EMAs and the Parabolic SAR. In practical terms, this looks more like a weak recovery inside a soft structure than the start of a fresh bullish leg.
Fundamental Note
The latest macro backdrop has become less supportive for crypto in the short term. Reuters reported on April 23 that global markets turned more cautious as tensions around Iran and the Strait of Hormuz intensified again, oil climbed above $100, and major cryptocurrencies including bitcoin and ethereum moved lower as investors pulled back from risk assets. That kind of environment is typically a headwind for high-beta altcoins such as Solana.
At the same time, the medium-term institutional story around Solana is still more constructive than it was a year ago. Reuters reported in January that Morgan Stanley filed to launch ETFs tied to bitcoin and Solana, while Reuters had earlier reported that Bitwise launched the first U.S. spot Solana ETF in late 2025. Those developments support the broader institutionalization theme around SOL, even if the immediate price action remains driven more by macro risk sentiment and headline volatility.
Trading Signal
Signal: Sell on rebound while below resistance
Entry: 85.50
Stop Loss: 86.45
Take Profit 1: 84.50
Take Profit 2: 83.20
This setup favors a cautious bearish trade because price remains below the 20- and 50-hour EMAs, the Parabolic SAR is still above price, and the recent trendline break has not yet been repaired. A sustained move back above 86.30–86.45 would weaken the bearish setup materially.
