Technical Analysis
On the D1 chart, BTC/USD remains in a broader downtrend, even though the sharp decline has shifted into a sideways stabilization phase. Price is trading near 68,674.50, below both the 20-period SMA at 69,732.68 and the 50-period SMA at 70,231.81. That keeps the short-term structure technically weak and shows that sellers still control rallies into the moving-average zone.
The 20 SMA is below the 50 SMA, and both averages are still sloping lower. This confirms a bearish trend structure rather than a confirmed reversal. Recent price action has formed a narrow consolidation band around the 66,000–69,000 area, which suggests the market is trying to base after heavy selling, but it has not yet broken the broader sequence of lower highs. A recovery above the 69,700–70,200 resistance cluster would be needed to improve the chart materially.
Momentum is showing a modest short-term improvement. The MACD histogram has turned slightly positive, and the MACD line is above the signal line, but both remain below the zero line. In practical terms, this means downside momentum has cooled, yet the broader bearish trend is still intact.
Volume behavior also supports a cautious reading. The strongest activity appeared during the sharp selloff, while the recent rebound and consolidation phase has come with less convincing participation. That usually points to short covering or temporary stabilization rather than aggressive reversal buying.
Short Fundamental Note
From a market-structure perspective, the chart reflects a cautious risk environment. BTC/USD is stabilizing, but the inability to reclaim the 20- and 50-period moving averages suggests buyers still lack strong conviction. Until price breaks above dynamic resistance, the market remains vulnerable to another downside test.
Trading Signal
Signal: Sell on weakness below resistance
Entry: 68,650
Stop Loss: 70,350
Take Profit 1: 66,000
Take Profit 2: 63,700
This setup favors a bearish continuation trade because price remains below both moving averages, the broader trend is still negative, and the MACD improvement is not yet strong enough to confirm a bullish reversal.
